Schengen Multiple-Entry Visa

A multiple-entry Schengen visa is a short-stay Type C visa issued so you can enter and leave the Schengen area several times during its validity. It is the same uniform Type C visa; โ€œmultiple-entryโ€ describes the number of entries allowed, not a different visa. The 90-days-in-180 short-stay limit still applies across all your visits.

What typically differs

A Type C visa can be issued for a single, double or multiple entries. A multiple-entry visa suits frequent travellers who need to come and go, but every day you spend inside the Schengen area still counts towards the 90-days-in-180 limit. Read the 90/180-day rule to plan your days, and confirm eligibility for a multiple-entry visa via the official European Commission guidance.

The shared requirements

This page is an orientation only. Read the shared guides that apply to every Schengen short-stay visa: eligibility, documents, travel insurance, proof of funds, biometrics, fees, processing times and the 90/180-day rule. Always confirm what applies to you with the official European Commission guidance before you apply.
