Corrections policy

We want our visa and immigration guidance to be accurate and current. If something is wrong or out of date, please tell us.

How to report a correction

Contact us with the page address and what you believe is incorrect, ideally with a link to the official source that supports the correction. We review every report.

What happens next

We check the point against the relevant official source. If a correction is needed, we update the page and update its โ€œlast verifiedโ€ date. Where the point carries legal or immigration consequences, the change is checked by a specialist before it goes live. If we conclude the page is already correct, we will explain why.

Significant changes

Where a correction materially changes the guidance on a page, we note that the page has been updated. Our approach to sourcing and review is set out in our editorial policy and fact-checking policy.

Important

Our guidance is general information, not individual legal advice. Always confirm your own situation with the official authority or a qualified adviser before you act.
