Indonesia e-Visa and e-VoA explained

Indonesia offers electronic visas applied for online before travel — the Visitor Visa (e-Visa) and the Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) — as well as visa-free entry for some nationalities. This page explains the options in plain language, drawing on the official Directorate General of Immigration guidance; always use the official portals and confirm the rules for your nationality.

The official immigration portals

The Visitor Visa is applied for through evisa.imigrasi.go.id and the e-VoA through molina.imigrasi.go.id, both run by the Directorate General of Immigration. Use only the official portals — look-alike third-party sites are not the government service.

Visitor Visa (e-Visa)

According to the Directorate General of Immigration, the Visitor Visa is valid for 90 days from issuance and allows a 30-day stay, with a stated fee of IDR 500,000. It covers tourism, a government visit, a business meeting, purchasing goods or transit.

Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA)

The Directorate General of Immigration describes the e-VoA as single entry with a 30-day stay, extendable once for a further 30 days at an immigration office. It covers the same purposes as the Visitor Visa.

Visa-free entry

Some nationalities, especially citizens of ASEAN member states, can enter visa-free for a 30-day tourism stay that cannot be extended or converted. Check the official list to see whether your nationality qualifies.
