Moldova eVisa and visa-free entry explained
Whether you need a visa for Moldova, and how you apply, depends on your nationality and the purpose of your trip. This page explains the eVisa and visa-free options in plain language; always confirm your own situation with the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance.
Visa-free short stays
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that many nationalities can visit Moldova visa-free for short stays. If you are visa-exempt you do not need to apply — but you must still meet the entry conditions. Check the official guidance to confirm whether your nationality is exempt.
The eVisa portal
Where a visa is required, only two categories can be obtained online: the Type B transit visa and the Type C short-stay visa. Both are applied for at the official eVisa portal, evisa.gov.md.
Visas applied for at a mission
Airport transit visas (Type A) and long-stay visas (Type D) are not available through the eVisa portal. They are issued by Moldovan diplomatic missions and consular offices.
