Visa-free entry to Colombia for short stays

Many travellers can enter Colombia for a short visit without a visa. This page explains what visa-exempt (visa-free) entry means in plain language. Whether it applies to you depends on your nationality, so always confirm on the official Cancillería requirements page before you travel.

What visa-exempt entry means

For short tourism, business or leisure visits, nationals of many countries may enter Colombia without applying for a visa. Colombia groups passports on visa-exemption lists (Lists A, B and C), and some special cases also apply.

No paid work

Visa-exempt entry is for short, non-permanent visits and does not allow you to take paid employment. If you plan to work, settle or study long-term you need the appropriate visa (Visitor V, Migrant M or Resident R).

Check your nationality

Whether you are visa-exempt, and the conditions that apply, depend on your nationality. Confirm your situation on the official Cancillería requirements page before you book travel.
