Visa on arrival is issued based on an official letter from a domestic organization or an official invitation from an international organization operating in Afghanistan. These visas are granted with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Kabul International Airport
Business visas are issued based on a valid business license, a copy of the passport, and supporting bank statements.
Crew visas are issued to foreign nationals, including pilots, engineers, cabin crew, and aviation technicians, who travel to Afghanistan for work purposes within an aircraft. These visas are provided by Afghanistan’s political and consular missions abroad.
Foreign nationals of Afghan origin traveling to Afghanistan with a foreign passport can enter the country without a visa under the following conditions: • Foreign nationals of Afghan origin whose birth place is listed as Afghanistan on their passport. • Foreign nationals of Afghan origin whose birth place is not mentioned as Afghanistan on their passport but who possess an Afghan identification card (Tazkira), Afghan passport, or a certificate of identity from Afghan diplomatic/Consular missions abroad. • Those Afghan nationals who have relinquish their citizenship will be treated as foreign nationals when issuing visas.
This visa is issued to individuals invited by companies or institutions operating in Afghanistan, which hold an official license from the relevant institutions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The visa is granted based on an official letter from the relevant institution and with the approval of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Afghanistan’s political and consular missions abroad. Afghans holding foreign passports who are officially married to foreign nationals and possess a valid marriage or legal relationship certificate, provided they have not renounced Afghan citizenship, are eligible for an entry visa issued by Afghanistan’s political and consular missions abroad.
An exit visa is issued to foreign nationals who, for reasons such as (imprisonment in Afghanistan, a judicial or legal order lifting a travel ban, or other legitimate and justified reasons), were unable to extend their visa while in Afghanistan.
Service visas are issued by Afghanistan Islamic Emirate political and consular missions abroad based on an official note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country and with the approval of Afghanistan Islamic Emirate Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically for holders of service passports.
A tourist visa is issued based on the applicant’s travel purpose and other necessary documents, such as a valid passport and hotel booking confirmation.
Transit visas are issued to individuals holding a valid visa or travel documents for the destination country and intending to transit through Afghanistan. These visas are provided by Afghanistan’s political and consular missions abroad.
A visitor visa is issued to foreign nationals who travel to Afghanistan to participate in sports competitions, exhibitions, or to visit relatives and friends. These visas are issued by Afghanistan’s political and consular missions abroad.
