Whether you need a visa for Suriname depends on your nationality and the purpose of your trip: many travellers enter visa-free but must pay an online entry fee, some nationalities must obtain an e-visa or e-tourist card before arrival, and longer stays for work, study, family or settlement require separate authorisation. Short-stay travel visas and tourist cards are administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation through its official online portal (operated by VFS Global), while stays over 90 days, residence permits and naturalisation fall under the Ministry of Justice and Police and its Aliens Affairs department, and work permits under the Ministry of Labour. Who needs a visa to Suriname Visa
A visa is required for any foreign individual seeking to visit Suriname unless they are a citizen of one of the nations that are free from visa requirements or who are entitled to use a tourist card. Immigration visas granted by the Surinamese government are intended to regulate and facilitate the movement of people across borders. All visitors are required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months.
Depending on your nationality, you can require one or the other. Both the Suriname Visa and Tourist Card are available online, although it takes less time to receive the Tourist Card.
Additionally, some nationals are permitted visa-free entry to Suriname for tourism activities.

You will need the following:
- The bio page of your passport. The passport's validity duration must be for six months.
- Your travel schedule (not your flight ticket).
- Evidence of lodging in Suriname (hotel reservation, booking, letter of invitation, etc).

Who can enter Suriname without a visa?
To enter Suriname, foreign nationals must get either a Suriname Tourist Card or a Visa. Depending on your nationality, you may require either document. If you are a citizen of one of the following nations, you can enter Suriname visa-free for up to 30 days:

If you plan to stay in Suriname for more than three months, you must get an Authorization for Temporary Stay (also known as an MKV) from the nearest Surinamese embassy prior to departure. If you are visiting Suriname on a tourist or business visa, you cannot apply for permanent residency.
