Luxembourg Visa Appointments (2025)
This page has been reviewed and verified by Michael Gibbons, UK Solicitor and Regulated Immigration Advisor, to ensure accuracy under current EU and Luxembourg immigration guidance. You can confirm current rates and costs through our Luxembourg Visa Application Guide.
All Luxembourg visa applicants must schedule an appointment to submit their documents and provide biometric information. Appointments are managed through authorised Visa Application Centres (VACs) or Luxembourg embassies and must be booked before submitting your visa application.
How to Book a Luxembourg Visa Appointment
Appointments must be scheduled online before visiting the application centre. Follow these steps:
- Complete your Luxembourg visa application form online.
- Log into the official VFS Global portal or the embassy website for your country.
- Select your preferred Visa Application Centre and choose an available date and time.
- Confirm your booking and download your appointment confirmation letter.
You must bring your confirmation letter to the appointment for entry into the centre.
Appointment Availability and Waiting Times
Availability varies based on:
- Country and region of residence.
- Time of year (summer and holidays are peak periods).
- Visa type (short-stay vs. long-stay).
During busy travel seasons, appointments may book out weeks in advance. Apply early — ideally four weeks before your planned travel date.
Rescheduling or Cancelling Your Appointment
If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment:
- Log in to your VAC account and click “Manage Appointment.”
- Choose a new date or cancel entirely.
- Changes must be made at least 48 hours before the appointment time.
Missed appointments may require paying a new service fee to reschedule.

Applicants must bring:
- A printed copy of your appointment confirmation letter.
- Your passport (valid for at least three months after departure from Luxembourg).
- Completed and signed visa application form.
- Proof of visa fee payment.
- All supporting documentation listed in the Documents Checklist (2025).

At the Visa Application Centre, you will:
- Submit your printed application form and supporting documents.
- Provide biometric data (fingerprints and photo).
- Make any final payments for service fees or optional add-ons.
- Receive a tracking receipt for your application.
