Whether you need a visa for Jordan, and which route applies, depends on your nationality and the purpose of your trip — tourism, transit, work, study, family, investment or settlement. Many nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or apply online, while others must arrange a visa or residence permit in advance. The Ministry of Interior is the authority responsible for visas and residence permits, operating its e-services portal at eservices.moi.gov.jo alongside the Ministry of Labour (work permits) and the Ministry of Investment (investor residency and citizenship).

Who needs a visa to visit Jordan?
Jordan requires a visa from the majority of visitors, except for citizens of:
- Bahrain (for up to 3 months)
- Egypt (for up to 1 month)
- Israel (for up to 1 month)
- Kuwait (for up to 3 months)
- Lebanon (for up to 3 months)
- Oman (for up to 3 months)
- Palestinian Authority (for up to 1 month)
- Qatar (for up to 3 months)
- Saudi Arabia
- Turkey (for up to 3 months)

Entry into Jordan
No longer are visitors to Jordan required to present proof of a negative PCR test. You must register your information on the Visit Jordan Platform prior to your arrival. PCR testing is no longer required upon arrival. If you test positive while in Jordan, you will be required to remain in quarantine for five days at your place of residence. After this 5-day period, no further PCR testing is necessary. There is no requirement for isolation for those exposed to a confirmed case. Passengers are required to have valid health insurance for the duration of their intended stay in Jordan.
The Jordanian Ministry of Health has launched an e-platform for Jordanian residents and visitors who wish to register for a COVID-19 vaccination. Proof of vaccination is required to enter public spaces like hotels, malls, and government buildings.
Eligibility to apply for a Jordan visa
The criteria to apply for a Jordan visa is straight forward. It is designed to assist travellers ensure they have all the correct documents before travelling. It is imperative you have all your documents with you before travelling. The criteria is listed below.
- A passport that has at least two blank pages and is valid for at least another six months.
- Evidence of a forward travel ticket.
- Accommodation documentation.
- Evidence of sufficient financial resources to support your stay.
- Sufficient funds to cover the visa fee.
Processing time for Jordan visas
When it comes to obtaining a visa upon arrival, you will receive one within two hours, or possibly more if you are in a hurry, after your arrival in Jordan. Approximately three to five days are required for the issuance of a tourist visa to Jordan prior to arrival. You must have your visa in order before beginning your journey.
Who can visit Jordan without a visa?
Bahrain, Egypt (1 month), Israel (1 month), Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Territory (1 month), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Tunisia (2 months), and the United Arab Emirates do not require a visa to enter Jordan. If you are a citizen of any other country in the world, you will need a visa to enter the United States.

Yes, If you enter Jordan from the Wadi Araba border, stay in Jordan for at least two nights, and then exit Jordan from the same border, your visa fees will be cancelled and you will not be required to present a Jordan Pass upon arrival. This rule only applies at the border of Wadi Araba.
