Who needs a visa to visit Bangladesh?

Bangladeshi immigration officials issue Visa On Arrival at their discretion. All non-visa-exempt foreigners must get a Bangladeshi visa to enter the country.

The eligibility to apply for a Bangladesh visa are as follows:

• Please submit a recent negative COVID-19 test.
• Passport.
• At least two blank visa pages and a passport valid for six months after departure from the destination country are required.
• Passport photo.

The types of Bangladesh visas available are as follows:

Tourist, business, student, employment, diplomatic/official, investor, journalist, and NGO (NGO). Visa eligibility and requirements vary by kind.

Tourist visas are available to foreigners visiting Bangladesh for tourism, casual visits to friends and family, seminars, conferences, workshops, study tours, and religious purposes.

Student visas are available to regular or prospective students at government-approved educational institutions in Bangladesh. Multiple-entry student visas can last one year.

A businessperson visiting Bangladesh for trade and investment. An invitation letter from a Bangladeshi business organisation or local sponsor and a letter from the company sending the applicant to Bangladesh are required. Single, double, or triple entries are allowed for a three-month work permit/employment visa. This category allows 90 days per visit.

Foreign journalists of newspapers/magazines/TV or radio networks/ news agencies/ representatives of print, electronics, or satellite media/freelance journalists can apply for a journalist visa to visit Bangladesh for information, news, or official duties.

What to do if your Bangladesh visa is refused

To reapply, you must fill out a new application, pay the application cost, and schedule a new interview. Before applying for your visa, make sure you have all the necessary paperwork. Failure to do so may result in visa denial.
